Learning is an active, continuous and cumulative process which produces change.
Young children learn only through first hand experiences which takes place repeatedly
over a period of time. This must happen in active classrooms and local environments
where children can learn to make appropriate choices judicious decisions,
manipulate materials interact with peers and adults experience special events,
discuss ideas and actions use a meaningful language and to receive adult support.
Experiences must be given and not told of concepts and relationships that children
are trying to understand. There is a Paradigm shift from 20th century to 21st
From Individual centric to being Collaborative
From Teacher centric to Student centric.
From Group based learning to Individual learning programs.
From Predominant content to Predominant process.
From Just in case learning to Just in time learning.
From Single purpose spaces to Flexible learning spaces.
Somany Vidyapeeth is uniquely defined by the children: a group of friendly,
intelligent, energetic, musical and creative individuals. Our strength is our
tremendous sense of team spirit where each individual is valued for the part
they play in making Somany Vidyapeeth a welcoming, safe environment.
Celebrating and valuing each other enables our pupils to learn to be
independent and develop their abilities to the full.
Our curriculum is a wonderful, exciting learning environment where we all have a
passion for education. Our aim is to give your child every opportunity to achieve
the highest possible standards in everything they do. We are committed to offering
an exciting and creative curriculum with a wealth of different experiences and
opportunities to learn and flourish. We encourage a can do attitude to everything,
with clear aims and a shared vision for future improvement.
We believe that young children learn best through a wide range of activities based
on first hand experience. Our curriculum is carefully planned to meet the needs,
interests and abilities of the children. Each child is regarded as an individual
and an equal. Our curriculum consists of activities designed to develop the social,
personal, intellectual and physical activities of the children. The quality of the
children's learning is enhanced across the curriculum through practical activities,
educational visits linked to topic work and the use of ICT. All work in the school
is planned within the framework of the National Curriculum.
